The Qur’an is read literally billions of times in the month of Ramadan all over the world. Although Ramadan is more popularly known for the fasting involved with the month, within Islamic tradition Ramadan is said to be the month of the Qur’an. In this month people try to recite the entire Qur’an and the majority of mosques in the world hold tarawih prayers in the night where 1/30th of the Qur’an is read each night.

As the Qur’an is finished, usually between the 27th and 29th nights of Ramadan depending on the congregation, it is sealed with a powerful prayer by the Imam leading the tarawih prayers.
