A Message from Yassin Bey from a Country Called Earth — On His Retirement From Music & Hollywood

As a number of celebrities have announced that they would boycott the Oscars this year because of their unbearable White blindness to anything beyond White people’s stories. Yassin Bey took things one step further on a message released via Kanye West’s website where he discusses his recent detention in South Africa and how he is retiring from music and Hollywood completely. Stating he will release one more album this year and that’s it.

Where Yassin is headed next with his family is a good question but he made his sentiments clear on the end of the recording with these lyrics:
